Blind Unicorn Pet Nat White

Naughty Solo, Not Your Grandad's Pub Squash, Yellow Tang Juice, just some of the names this wine has been given since gracing our Fizzy shelves. And that actually sums it up pretty well. Made from certified organic chenin blanc grapes, in the petillant naturel style, by the humble Ben Gould of Blind Corner.

Wizard Piss III White 2022

Winemaker Sam Leyshon of Mallaluka fame is responsible for these wines. We love Sam. He is lovely and super talented. He blends a bunch of different white grapes into chardonnay here - a sum of parts that results in a textural, quietly complex white wine of bright, cool climate acidity, strong stone fruit and green apple characters, a bit of sweet spice, some alpine herb notes too. Fresh, frisky, lots of charisma and ease of drinking.

How cool are tasting notes? Not very. It's made by Blind Corner, the colour is orange, it's some sort of chenin/sauvignon blanc, aligoté blend and my glass seems to have a hole in it....

Ghost Planet Rose 2022

Nah, not your usual pale, insipid rose... this one has texture, weight, the feel of a kinda lighter red but with lots of crunch and thirst-quenching tang. Has a sort of Campari vibe to it - tart red berries, blood orange, a bit of botanical herbs going on. That being said, it's straight up refreshing and one of the more interesting Aussie roses going around. Chenin and grenache here, almost in equal portions.

Wizard's Piss is the brainchild of Sam Leyshon from Mallaluka in Yass, NSW with the original wine one that stood out from Sam’s usual roster of wines and labelled for its more alternative styling. This third release is no slouch either. Wizards know stuff...
