Commune of Buttons Commie Juice 2023

Made exclusively for us by the legendary siblings that are Sophie and Jasper Button in the Adelaide Hills. It's a pinot noir/syrah. Cherry-pomegranate business. Punchy, crunchy. Bell-ring brightness. Easy. Delicious. Don't think. Just drink.

Jilly Wine Co White Wolf of Cumbria Red MV

Multi varietal and multi vintage made up of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and lambrusco. Think blue fruits, dabs of spice to keep it interesting, but just such an unrelenting drinkability, you will struggle to put your glass down! It's a feast for the senses while remaining kinda fresh, crunchy and wildly delicious. Dunno how, it just works. Fun. Thanks Jared, you are a weapon.

Wizard Piss III Red 2022

Wizard's Piss is the brainchild of Sam Leyshon from Mallaluka in Yass, NSW with the original wine one that stood out from Sam’s usual roster of wines and labelled for its more alternative styling. This third release is no slouch either. Wizards know stuff...

S'Express Winemakers Stupid Little Red 2023

We love Ryan O'Meara from Express Winemakers, so much so that for the past several years we've been collaborating on unique wines with him under our collaborative label S'Express - it's a place for added creativity and left of centre releases that tickle our mutual fancy. The 2023 has blessed us with a seductively perfumed and plush one-two punch of syrah and pinot noir that deserves a spot in your fridge.

Yayoi Wines Miles Raymond Merlot Nouveau 2023

Winemaker Steffi Snook sources merlot from the Coonawarra wine region and ferments it on skins for a quick six days. The resulting wine is bright, fresh, slurpy and lively - a quite different take on the variety that leans into its ability to be a youthful, refreshing red wine instead of plummy, chocolatey stuff associated with merlot. Here, blueberry, mulberry, boysenberry with mixed, dried Italian herbs, a bit of saline mineral character, some juicy cranberry tang finishing things off nicely. A very playful and very delightful red wine.

El'more Syrah 2023

A relative new-comer to the winemaking scene, though the family is based on a seventh generation farm in the Yarra. This syrah is pretty much the dictionary definition for that naming of shiraz (syrah!), medium weight, silky textured, with floral-spice-game meat perfume and a big swish of red cherry both in bouquet and palate. It slips along on fine, lacy tannins, shows some nice pucker in the lingering, minerally finish. Character plus, but a touch of class here - even, balanced and harmonious, oh and delicious, red wine.
